First of all Hello! and welcome to Justportraits! Announcement
First of all: don't be offended if your image is declined - keep in mind that we want to improve the quality of the images in this group and we believe a change has been made; we are receiving really good imagery. If your image has been declined might be because you submitted in the wrong folder and we are not accepting this kind of compromise or your image is not exactly what we are looking for. Don't get upset just work harder!
Some of the images you are sending don't even include a portrait- we do not accept this kind of work; some do contain portraits but with not enough emphasis on it - here is where things get harder for us, but we are trying to be rational and to appreciate good ideas.
Secondly, we are working really hard to vote for your images but because there are loads of submissions, the accept/decline process might take a while (as you all know you needed 3 votes for your image now we dropped the number of votes to 2 in order for you to get your response as soon as possible).
As I said before, the reason I made this blog entry is quite simple: please focus more on what you are sending. We want to improve the quality of images in this group so we won't accept body parts pictures or pictures where the person ( portrait or straight up photography) will take less than 70% of the picture. A portrait doesn't mean only head- photography but we can not accept a picture where we can barely see the model.
Also- focus on the folder you are submitting- we had to decline some really good images because they were submitted in the wrong folders.
All this been said- go take some really nice photographs and share them with us!
We are having different Folders, for each Category. (Please submit into the right folder!)
The Featured Deviations will be chosen by us. (until we get a SuperGroup Subscription)
Image quality and composition must be good.
We accept nudity when conceived as a form of art.
Any Submission will need 2 Votes to be accepted or declined.
And also please notice that body parts are not a Portrait! Group Upgrade <-- We really need it!

would greatly appreciate it! You could also donate some points. We need 4.796

What is a portrait?
Wikipedia defines a portrait as "a painting,
photograph, sculpture, or other artistic representation of a person, in which the face and its
expression is predominant. The intent is to display the likeness, personality, and even the mood of the
person. For this reason, in photography a portrait is generally not a snapshot, but a composed image of
a person in a still position. A portrait often shows a person looking directly at the painter or
photographer, in order to most successfully engage the subject with the viewer."
Merriam-Webster's definition is,
naturally, a little more succinct: "PICTURE; especially : a pictorial representation of a
person usually showing the face"
